I understand that in the heat of the moment, anyone can ultimately be upset at getting second place, and this could be at any venue for any competition. However, when you are on a national stage, being presented an Olympic medal and representing your country, taking the medal off is not a classy move. Celebrate the fact that you made it that far, to the Olympics with your country, and are being award a medal, regardless of the color.
So with that, congrats to the United States on the first ever gold in Women’s Hockey, and also to Canada with the silver. BTW, Canada is currently ahead of us in the total medal count by just three.
It was a huge day overall for the US, including the sports that I follow, freestyle skiing and alpine skiing, on golds and silvers. Those guys were SENDING it in the superpipe! Congrats to all of our other winners in the other competitions as well! -GM
