Flip Side 45 #42

This weeks Flip Side 45 comes to us via Minneapolis. A band of brothers and sisters collectively called, The Jets.


In 1985, they released their first studio album, simply called, The Jets. The album spawned four hits. One of those hits became their most successful single, "Crush On You", and the flip side, "Right Before My Eyes".

This week's Flip Side 45 is from Berlin's 1984 album Love Life. The number 23 hit, "No More Words" and the flip side, "Rumor Of Love".

In 1986, The Cars bassist and sometimes vocalist, Benjamin Orr released his debut solo album, The Lace. From it, the hit "Stay The Night" was the only song to hit the charts. This week's Flips Side 45 is "That's The Way"

The English duo Go West released their debut, self-titled album in 1985. The album produced three songs that hit the Hot 100. The first is this weeks Flip Side 45. We Close Our Eyes and the flip side, Missing Persons.

This week's Flip Side 45 comes from the 1987 album "Babylon and On" by the English group, Squeeze. The song went to number 15 on the charts in the US. It's "Hourglass" and the flip side of "Wedding Day".

In 1985 Sylvester Stallone starred in the Rocky IV. Heard in the movie was "The Godfather of Soul" James Brown and his hit "Living In America". The flip side of the 45 was performed by Vince DiCola performing the song Farewell.

This weeks flip side was the first single from the 1987 album "Let It Loose" by Gloria Estefan and The Miami Sound Machine. Rhythm Is Gonna Get You went to #5 on the Billboard Hot 100. The Flip Side 45, "Give It Up".

This weeks Flip Side 45 comes from across the "big pond". Duran Duran formed in 1978 and by 1981 had released their first album. It wasn't until their third album, Seven And The Ragged Tiger in 1983, do we hear the #3 hit "Union of The Snake" and, at the time, available only on the flip side, "Secret Oktober".

This weeks Flip Side comes to us via Massachusetts native William Haislip Squier. We know him better as Billy Squier. From his 1984 album Signs of Life it's the #15 hit Rock Me Tonite and the flip side Can't Get Next To You.

Welcome to the New Year!

This weeks flip side is from Cher and her self-titled album from 1987. The hit side was first a minor success by Gloria Branigan and one of the writers was Michael Bolton. Cher's version went to #10, it's I Found Someone and the flip side "Dangerous Times"

After the break for the All 80s Christmas Show we are back with more Flip Side 45. This week it's from Rod Stewart's 1984 album Camouflage. "Infatuation" went to #6 in the US but the flip side is actually from the 1980 album "Foolish Behavior". It's "She Won't Dance With Me".

This week's Flip Side 45 comes to us from London, England and the band originally known as "The Baseball Boys". We know them better as "The Outfield". Their rookie album, "Play Deep" lined up with the home run "Your Love" and the flip side, "61 Seconds".
