Mmmmmm candy….

Halloween is almost here, so perhaps even more candy will be in your household soon. As with any candy, none are really good for your teeth.

But, for the fun of it, what really are the worst candies for your teeth. You know it when you bite into them, the ones with the gooey or hard crunchy stuff that sticks to your teeth and get’s caught in between them. Yeah, those are some of the biggest culprits on this list. That being said, if you prefer chocolate, you’ll be glad to know most those varieties aren’t on this list!

1. Butterfinger

Dr. Ramin has three words to describe the candy: “Sticky. Sugary. Gooey.”

2. Swedish Fish

Because of the stickiness of Swedish Fish, the candy “lingers” around in the crevices of your teeth.

3. Lollipops

Dr. Tabib says the candy “bathes your teeth for a long time with sugar.”

4. Tootsie Rolls

Another popular go-to, Tootsie Rolls are a cavity haven because they “stick around.”

5. Sour Patch Kids

Kids should also avoid the candy because they are “acidic and bathe mouth in sugar.”

6. Laffy Taffy

“Too sticky!” says the dentist of the candy.

7. Jolly Ranchers

Jolly Ranchers can literally “break teeth.”

8. Caramel Chews

Like the other candies, the sugar-filled caramel chews are “too sticky!” and can wreak havoc on your chompers.

9. Gummy Worms
